Charming Holiday Accommodation in France
Christine and Graham Battye invite you to discover Burgundy in the heart of France. A province of wine, good food, chateaux and magnificent countryside.
We welcome bed and breakfast guests, and also offer two holiday cottages, ‘Petit Crème’ and 'Grand Crème', both available all year round, with log fires. Grand Crème has a large outdoor swimming pool open from May until the middle of October, plus a sauna which is always available.
Since we can welcome over 20 in total, and with a large party room in our barn, we are an ideal location for private events or family gatherings. We are near the A6 autoroute and mid-way between Paris and Lyon, London and Provence or the Alps.
Montréal is a typical Burgundian medieval fortified village with houses of local stone dating back to the 13th century. You enter by a medieval arch which breaches the first of three encircling walls. On top of the ‘Mount Royal’ is the famous collegiate church of transitional Romanesque-Perpendicular architecture. Maison Crème Anglaise has its stone staircase in a turret, a pretty courtyard for summer breakfasts outside, a grand piano and bibliotèque in the barn, and a sunny terrace overlooking a large garden with amazing views over unspoilt countryside. 'Au Quinze' is the village café-bistro serving excellent 'formule' lunches. Alongside is 'La Hirondelle', a co-operative boutique selling art and local produce.
We feel privileged to live here, and welcome the opportunity to share our knowledge of the area with you.
